Policy effective date: May 16, 2012
LM Information Delivery (LM) has been in the subscription management business for more than 40 years, and from the day we put our name on the office door, we have made customer service excellence the daily mantra that we live by. Part of that care is honoring and protecting your privacy. As marketing becomes more intrusive and data collection and identity issues more pervasive, we are especially sensitive to the privacy impacts of every business decision we make. On the Web, this is particularly tricky because technology such as “cookies” (tiny pieces of information stored by your Internet browser on your computer’s hard drive) actually enables us to provide a better user experience and more customized service to you, the customer. Regardless, we want to assure you of our commitment to protecting your privacy and the security of the information you share with us and to fully disclose and explain our policies and practices so you will always know what information we gather and how we might use that information. The data we collect about you is for our own internal business use. We will not sell, rent or distribute that information in any way.
LM’s privacy policies and procedures described here apply to different types of information, as described below:
Personally identifiable information is information that you provide to us — your name, mailing address, phone number, email address, credit card number, or financial information — that could identify you individually.
Non-personal information is information that LM may obtain during your online visit, for example, your browser type, your operating system, your Internet Service Provider (ISP), your internet protocol (IP) address, or the uniform resource locater (URL) of the web site you previously visited. Non-Personal Information cannot be easily used to personally identify you.
Our web site is not set up to automatically collect personally identifiable information from each visitor. It does, however, automatically generate server log files, which compile statistical information and error reports that help ensure that the web site runs smoothly, with a minimum of disruption. Some of the other information (as noted above, under non-personal information) is used by our technical staff for internal purposes only, primarily for statistical analysis, in the aggregate, to help us improve our web site/s and related business practices.
About data security
To ensure the security of your data – including address information and credit card numbers – LM always uses industry-standard encryption technologies when transferring and receiving customer data exchanged with our site/s. We have appropriate security measures that protect against the loss, misuse or alteration of information that we have collected from you.
You can say “no”
If you want to disable cookies, there is a simple procedure in most Internet browsers that allows you to turn them off. Before you do, however, please be aware that cookies are required to allow you to use certain features of our site/s.
We may be required by law to disclose certain information
LM Information Delivery Inc. may need to transfer certain information to comply with a legal requirement, such as a law, regulation, court order, subpoena, search warrant, in the course of a legal proceeding or in response to a law enforcement agency request.
Linking out beyond our “walls”
Lminfo.us contains links to other sites which may have information-gathering practices different from our own. Visitors should consult privacy policies for all other sites, as we have no control over information submitted to or collected by such third parties. Conversely, this policy does not apply to those third-party sites.
